About Us
We are Nathan & Gemma, a husband and wife team along with our young son. We have a great passion and love for animals and the countryside and aim to produce high quality meat that supports the environment by farming regeneratively. We are very fortunate to work with several supportive locals who have allowed us to graze their land and enable us to produce quality meat and support our dream.
Our Animals
Our cattle are a Lowline breed which are from 100% Aberdeen Angus genetics – derived from the traditional small cattle of the early 1920s, they are able to finish on grass with no need for concentrate feed and produce prime, high quality beef. They are also smaller and lighter to lower the impact on the ground, making them well suited for farming regeneratively. Our Lowline cattle are grass fed and naturally finished with excellent marbling, tenderness & flavour.
We hang our beef on the bone for a minimum of 4 weeks. This draws the moisture from the meat so you will get less shrinkage when cooking and also enhances tenderness and gives a rich depth of flavour.
Our Sheep are EasyCareTM which are a fleece shedding, prime lamb sheep breed. Specifically bred for ease of lambing and are able to finish on grass alone with no need for concentrate feed, producing high quality lamb.
After shedding in early summer, the fleece rapidly decomposes and provides a natural soil conditioner making them well suited for farming regeneratively. Our EasyCare sheep are grass fed and naturally finished with excellent tenderness & flavour. Our Lamb in hung on the bone for 7 days to give the best quality meat.
What is Regenerative Grazing?
Regenerative grazing is managing the livestock in a way that allows the pastures to rest and repair between grazing. By not using chemicals, the biodiversity and overall health of the ecosystem is improved.
Essentially, we're caring for the environment that our livestock call home to ensure that the grass and soil are strong and healthy and bursting with all the right nutrients. This means that our grass fed livestock produce more nutrient dense meat as well as leaving the pasture in better health for the future!
